overview the settings panel allows you to customize nexos according to your preferences you can adjust appearance, chat behavior, commands, speech features, personalization, and data controls available settings settings are organized into the following categories general settings control theme, language, panels, and archived chats chat settings adjust message display, input behavior, chat layout, and advanced options command settings enable or disable quick command prefixes speech settings configure speech to text, text to speech, and conversation mode personalization manage memory usage for tailored responses data controls manage profile, username display, authentication, and account deletion these options ensure nexos adapts to your workflow accessing settings section to open the nexos settings click your username in the bottom left corner of the app select settings from the menu the settings panel will open, where you can adjust preferences across all categories general settings the general settings control how nexos looks and behaves during everyday use these preferences let you customize the interface, chat behavior, and accessibility options theme choose how nexos appears by selecting a theme light uses a light color scheme dark uses a dark color scheme system automatically follows your deviceβs system theme (switches between dark and light based on your os settings) language set the interface language for nexos the dropdown includes multiple options such as english, arabic, deutsch, and others changing the language updates menus, labels, and tooltips does not affect chat output; chat responses depend on the language you use in your messages render user messages as markdown enable or disable rendering of your messages in markdown format on user messages with markdown syntax (headings, bold, lists, code blocks) are rendered with proper formatting off messages display as plain text this setting is useful if you regularly paste code snippets or structured content auto scroll to latest message on chat open control whether nexos automatically scrolls to the newest message when you open a chat on jumps directly to the most recent reply off opens the chat at your previous scroll position, useful for reviewing earlier parts of a long conversation hide right most side panel the right side panel contains tools such as prompts, memories, attachments, and bookmarks on hides the panel for a distraction free workspace off keeps the panel visible, allowing quick access to chat tools archived chats manage all chats that youβve archived from your history click manage to view your archived conversations from here you can restore, keep archived, or permanently delete chats useful for decluttering your main chat history while still keeping access to older sessions chat settings the chat settings control how conversations are displayed, written, and managed within nexos these options help you personalize your chat experience for readability, usability, and workflow efficiency message font size select the size of text in the chat window from the dropdown extra small small medium (default) large extra large chat direction choose the preferred reading direction ltr (left to right) standard for english and most languages rtl (right to left) recommended for languages such as arabic press enter to send messages decide how pressing enter behaves on pressing enter sends your message off pressing enter adds a new line to send, press ctrl + enter (windows/linux) or β + enter (mac) maximize chat space enable or disable expanded chat view on expands the chat area by minimizing surrounding ui elements off keeps the standard layout with all panels visible center chat input on welcome screen toggle this setting to adjust the position of the chat input field on the welcome screen on input box is centered off input box appears at the bottom of the screen open thinking dropdowns by default when enabled, the thinking/reasoning section of nexos is expanded automatically while generating responses on dropdown opens by default for each response off dropdown remains collapsed until manually opened always show code when using code interpreter control whether generated code is always displayed on displays all code output by the code interpreter off hides code output unless explicitly requested parsing latex in messages when enabled, latex syntax in messages is rendered as formatted mathematical equations on math rendering is enabled off displays latex as plain text, which may improve performance save drafts locally automatically save unfinished messages on text and attachments in the chat input are saved locally drafts persist even if you reload or switch conversations they are cleared once the message is sent off drafts are not saved scroll to end button adds a floating button that quickly scrolls to the latest message in long conversations save badges state control whether badge visibility persists across chats on badge state (enabled/disabled) is remembered for new chats off badges reset to default each time you start a new chat enable switching endpoints mid conversation when enabled, you can switch between different models or endpoints during an active conversation without starting a new chat use default fork option enables forking behavior to follow your default configuration automatically start fork from target message by default when enabled, forks begin at the selected target message and include all replies up to the latest message, following your fork preferences commands settings the commands settings let you enable or disable special prefixes that trigger quick actions inside the chat these prefixes provide shortcuts for switching models, presets, or prompts you can disable them if you frequently use these characters to start your own messages @ command when enabled, typing @ at the start of a message opens a quick selector for switching between endpoints changing the active model applying a saved preset \+ command when enabled, typing + at the beginning of your message allows you to request multiple responses at once / command when enabled, typing / at the start of your message lets you quickly select a saved prompt using your keyboard specch settings the speech settings control how the application handles speech to text (voice input) and text to speech (voice output) you can configure both basic speech features for everyday use and advanced options for fine tuned control simple specch settings these options cover the most common speech features speech to text enable or disable speech to text, when enabled, you can speak directly into the app, and your words will be transcribed into text for chatting with the agent language select the language you want to speak in the recognition engine will adapt to your selected language for better accuracy text to speech enable or disable text to speech when enabled, the agentβs responses will be spoken aloud instead of just displayed as text voice choose from a variety of available voices options may include male/female tones or regional accents depending on the supported voice packs advance specch settings these options give you more precise control over speech input/output conversation mode enable or disable conversation mode when enabled, the app will automatically transcribe audio continuously apply a default decibel sensitivity of 45 (to filter out background noise) speech to text toggle advanced speech to text functionality (separate from the simple toggle above for fine grained control) language select the speech recognition language for advanced speech input auto transcribe audio enable or disable automatic transcription of all incoming audio auto send text specify the delay (in seconds) for automatically sending transcribed text default 3 seconds set to 1 to disable auto send (manual sending only) decibel sensitivity adjust microphone sensitivity (default 45) lower values make the mic more sensitive to quiet sounds higher values reduce background noise pickup text to speech enable advanced text to speech features autoplay latest message when enabled, the most recent response from the agent will play automatically voice select the preferred output voice for text to speech use cloud based voices enable this option to use higher quality cloud voices instead of local voices audio playback rate adjust the playback speed of spoken responses default 1 0 (normal speed) lower values slow down speech; higher values speed it up enable cache tts toggle caching for text to speech when enabled, previously generated audio is cached locally for faster playback personalization memory toggle this option to control whether the assistant can reference your saved memories when enabled the assistant will be able to use your stored memories to provide more personalized and context aware responses when disabled the assistant will not access or reference stored memories, and all responses will be generated without personalization data controls manage your stored data, conversations, and credentials these settings give you control over what nexos keeps and allow you to clear or revoke data when needed import conversations upload a json file containing previously saved conversations to restore them into your chat history click import to select and upload your file shared links view and manage all chats youβve shared via links click manage to review or remove shared links revoke credentials revoke all user provided api keys, tokens, or login credentials stored in the system click revoke to immediately remove them delete tts cache remove all cached text to speech audio files stored locally click delete to clear the cache clear all chats delete your entire chat history from the system this action is permanent and cannot be undone account manage your nexos account preferences, profile, and security display username in messages toggle this option on/off to show or hide your username alongside your messages profile picture click change picture to upload or update your profile image change picture two factor authentication (2fa) enable 2fa to add an extra layer of security once enabled, youβll need to provide a verification code (from your authenticator app) in addition to your password when signing in delete account permanently remove your nexos account and all associated data this action cannot be undone
